Casa Grande Ecolodge, a complex comprised of Casa Grande and Casa Baula. Casa Grande is a timber structure with 3 guest rooms and a common living room/kitchen area.  The bedrooms are simply furnished using local materials and are comfortable and pleasant.   The downstairs common shower has solar powered warm water.

Room types:

The Agami Room has a private bath and features a queen and 1 single bed.  It has a view of the ocean, the jungle and the canal.   This is the largest room in Casa Grande.

The Tortuga Room has 1 double bed and a view of the ocean and the beach.  It shares a half bath and the downstairs shower with the Congo Room.

The Congo room, so called because the howler monkeys often congregate in the huge tree just outside the window,  has 2 single beds.  It shares the half bath just outside its door with the Tortuga Room .  It offers a jungle view.

All rooms have direct access to a huge, shared balcony  with a view of the Sea, the jungle, and the lagoon.  This is where you're bound to spend much of your downtime, always with the binoculars at hand to enjoy the magnificient wildlife.

Imagine a place hidden in a dense jungle forest along the Caribbean Sea, a quasi-island surrounded by the ocean and canals.  You can only get there by boat.  A place with no electricity and where howler monkeys, egrets, herons and kingfishers herald your arrival.     No crowds, no traffic, no luxury .. all left behind for the unique chance to experience raw nature, to be a part of something great, to observe, to learn and maybe teach some.   On the beach, you may notice a small group quietly gathering data from a nesting leatherback turtle. Or you may see an instructor leading students into the forest to observe a certain species of bird.  The only other people here are the reserve staff, instructors, biologists, students, volunteers or another likeminded visitor or two.  This is your Pacuare Reserve experience.  Your chance to be a part of our efforts.  Your chance to live and feel the power of shared passion for conservation in action.
